About The Event

Black Lives Matter Windsor Vermont (BLMWVT) will be hosting a Legislative Candidates' forum on systemic racism and other issues impacting the Windsor-1 district of Hartland, West Windsor, and Windsor on Sunday, August 2nd, from 12 - 3pm on the Common in Windsor and via livestream. Democratic and Progressive party candidates for the Windsor-1 House of Representatives district will be present to answer questions from BLMWVT to help voters learn about the candidates' stances on topics of importance to our communities, as well as to hear how they will work and vote to address these issues if elected to the VT General Assembly.

BLMWVT would like to invite members of our district, particularly members of color, to submit questions to be read during our candidate forum. We seek questions for the candidates to address, and all questions will be considered. In line with the national Black Lives Matter goals, however, our primary focus will be on questions regarding and related to the existence and elimination of State-sanctioned violence, the liberation of Black people, and the end of white supremacy forever.

Masks and social distancing will be mandatory at this event. Some seating will be available, but we recommend bringing your own chair if possible.

Please submit your questions via direct message to the BLMWVT FaceBook page of to the following e-mail address: blacklivesmatter.windsorvt@gmail.com
